Tweleve + One... An introduction...

Twelve+One, a new bakery-patisserie in Rochester Park, was recently mentioned at HungryGoWhere.com and Posh Nosh (The Straits Times, Urban, October 17 2008, Pg. 23). Thanks to Sihan's recommendation, we decided to spend our Saturday afternoon with Evan and Sihan in this pink and white oasis of prettiness.

Twelve + One is housed in one of these refurbished 70-year old colonial black and white bungalows, which was once homes of British officers and the surrounding lush botany makes this a nice place to unwind on a weekend afternoon.

The pink and white combination seems to be my childhood dream house. How can any little girl not feel like a princess in this beautiful cottage? Pink with white accents provides a very lighthearted ambience. The blue curtains against the white windows just gives the extra punch.

According to the article in The Straits Times, this place serves pretty good pastries. Some of the recommendations mentioned were the croissant ($2), the beignet (doughnut with jam, $1.50) and miniadises (6 for $7).

However, as I didn't read The Straits Times' article before the visit, I didn't order any pastries. Guess, I will do so on my next visit. Some of the goodies we have ordered (prices stated are excluding 7% GST and 10% service charge)...
  1. Chocolate Eclair ($6.00)
  2. Tiramisu ($5.60)
  3. Chocolate Tart ($6.50)
  4. Morgane ($7.00)
  5. Mistral ($7.00)
  6. Miniadises (6 pcs for $7.00)
