Chocolate Caib

Note that the serving portion shown in the picture is not the actual size of the cake. The actual portion is about 2 to 2.5x of what is shown in the picture. However, this is the portion of each cake if one orders the dessert platter (small - $25, premium - $30) which consists of bite size "petite" cakes and some others specially made for the platters, e.g. macaroons, chocolate balls, etc.

Chocolate Caib ($5.20) is considered the gem of Opus Deli which is described to be of soft top quality chocolate on a crunchy base. With a shiny layer of chocolate ganache, generous layer of milk chocolate mousse on a not-very-crunchy hazelnut praline. This is one cake which is good for a chocolate mousse fix. Although the impression is not as deep as the other chocolate mousse (with hazelnut praline) we have tried, we thought that the sweetness and smoothness is just right to appeal to the majority. But for those like Yuan who likes rich chocolate cakes, you will find this abit mild.
