Sticky Date Pudding

Another complementary dessert given by Prive and somehow or rather the recent few bakeries has presented Sticky Date creations as they signature or bestseller.

Frankly speaking, I am not a fan of Sticky Date so maybe I should drop by Marmalade Pantry to set my benchmark since the former is a die-die must try.

The texture of the pudding is soft with a slight porous texture. In addition, having served warm with the sticky date sauce drizzled over the pudding, the resulting effect is similar to a good chocolate fondant.

Yuan, on the other hand has a fresh perspective of what a sticky date pudding should taste like, particularly after the episode at B Bakery. Yuan described it as sticky date sauce over soft and light sponge with light nutmeg taste. Although he is no fan of nutmeg but he kind of enjoy the combination of sticky date and vanilla ice-cream.

I hope Prive's SDP hasn't given you a bad impression of SDPs. I've tried their SDP and it didn't impress one bit. fen, you should really go try Marmalade's. I've never heard of anybody who has tried it and not love it. It will even convert the non-dessert lover. And moreover you're the dessertarian.

Oh sorry I forgot to add, I don't quite get your comment on how a good chocolate fondant should taste like. Shouldn't a good fondant have a slight crisp crust with a soft interior? Well at least that's my definition of a good chocolate fondant, but of coz you may think otherwise.

There's no nutmeg in Marmalade's SDP hehe. Try it. You will love it lots!

Ice: Haha, definitely will drop by Marmalade Pantry...

What I meant about chocolate fondant texture was that apart from the crispy crust, the interior core is often soaked with chocolate, thus having a slight porous and spongy texture. This SDP has this similar texture, just that the sauce is sticky date instead of chocolate.

Sihan: It is date sauce, thus I didn't like it that much...
