Fraisier from BakerZin

Have been ages since we have last walked around Jurong Point and thus stepping into the new extension of JP2 looks so foreign to me but one thing never change about this place, it is always so crowded.

Last month
has been a random cake spree and thus was unable to finish the carrot cake special, but despite saying this, this is not going to be a carrot cake entry. Since when BakerZin sells carrot cake...

Fraisier

Presenting one of my first love of BakerZin, a pistachio baby, Fraisier. When I first stepped into BakerZin, this was known to be their signature and till now, I have not found a second alternative to this creation.

Fen's comments

Whole strawberries (pretty sour) intertwined with pistachio butter cream, are bounded neatly by two thin almond sponge sheets that had been soaked in strawberry liquor. The Fraisier, in my perspective has always been an interesting combination of pistachios, tangy strawberries, fruity liquor and almond essence.

Selling at $6.90++ per slice, I have always prided BakerZin for affordable and yummlicious cakes and this is no exception.

Yuan's comments
Having eaten this cake a second time it gives me a second opinion. There was just too much strawberries. The mousse was nice but too little of it and you get a full strawberry. Worst till, the strawberries are sour. Apart from the sour strawberries, i really enjoyed the mousse in Fraisier. It has this almond essence coupe with liquor soaked sponge.

would u believe i never noticed the fraisier? lol. yest i went there, had the sweet pleasures, sumatra, set of 3 tapas. i think their desserts are good leh. for me, after so many disappointing ones out there, bakerzin ones don't taste half as bad. only thing their macarons, not nice. i think i'll like the fraisier and will probably try the amer & lavende too :D

bakerzin, here i come again!!! hhehehe

Agreed totally. Bakerzin's desserts have never disappoint. They used to have this strawberry cheesecake coup dessert and that is awesome! I think now it's only available as tapas.

I love the bloom lemon cheesecake and blackforest! :)

Evan: Yeh, BakerZin desserts haven't disappoint apart from their macarons... Haven't tried their tapas since Yuan don't fancy small things and my date with BakerZin's ice-cream was ages ago (I had it at the Raffles City branch, so you roughly know how long it was)...

Actually, BakerZin was one of my considerations for dessert outings since they have the high tea special... depending on the number of ppl, we can try many cakes for less than $10 but it seems like LIC didn't like BakerZin though...

Ice: Hmm... Looks like I got to try their tapas since they don't have it as sliced... I haven't tried their bloom lemon cheesecake but I definitely agree with you on their Blackforest...

You guys know about their High Tea promotion? It's available daily from 2pm to 6pm, apart from Eves of PH and PH where an additional $1.90 to any sliced cakes or danishes will entitle you a drink (selected drinks).

kk, i really don't mind going there for the outing. if LIC doesn't like bakerzin, we shall count him out then haha! if u going again dearie, let me know =) i didn't know abt their high tea special. i only noe abt their $13.80 lunch special & the free flow of bread.

looks like there are so many desserts to try from there!

count me in! i'm definitely laying my hands on that pistachio and strawberry combo! haha.

Haha... since I am back to work, there is no way I can make it to BakerZin before 6pm... most likely it will end up on a weekend...

Hmm... I sensed that Sihan's pistachio radar is switched on... but warning, Yuan felt that the pistachio is not very strong... it was the overall combination that makes it nice...
