When mad dessertarians celebrate V-day I

Most people will be wondering where will we go on Valentine and we are those who are unwilling to pay the extra for an express meal with limited dinner menu. So far, we have not attempt to look for a place that is special when it comes to food, location and ambience. In fact, the celebration for each year is determined by what we are obsessed with during that point of time.

Since we have been faithfully trying to build our desserts database, most would have guessed what will be published in the next 3 days and yes... Today's entry is none other but Macaron L'amour from Canelé Pâtisserie Chocolaterie.

Macaron L'amour

I have always been curious about trying isaphan from various places but my attempt to find them failed. However, during the Valentine period, pâtisseries and hotels attempt to create their version of the coeur ispahan.

Macaron L'amour II

Decided to order this for Yuan but eventually he paid for it ($30+).

Glad he liked it. To him, this rose-flavoured shell with cream and raspberry jam is a simple combination. But yet is one of the best isaphan he have eaten so far. The shell has a strong almond taste and rose scent. Texture wise, slightly chewy but moist due to the filling. The only fault which he found in this isaphan is probably that there was too much cream.

To me, I thought it was too creamy and sweet; and that I didn't like the raspberry jelly which was almost 50% of its innard.

It's got no raspberries & lychee in between the macaron shells...

Though it looks really pretty. :D So sweet (& cunning) of you fen, to get this for Yuan haha.

Evan: Yeh... the nicest (in terms of appearance) among the entire lot I have seen for this year... I do like the rose and lychee combination but somehow or rather, macarons taste better than ispahan when it comes to texture... The macaron shells are always soaked wet and becomes soggy when compared to macarons...

Haha, the 18+ bucks rock bun...

Ice: That was the disappointing part of this, no lychee and was replaced with a thick chunk of raspberry jelly...

Sob sob, I am not cunning, just that he is too accommodating... Alright, I do have my fair share of bullying him...

personally i don't like ispahan haha. there's just too many raspberries inside and i don't really like eating raspberries coz its so sour. they're only good for decor :p

i found a new buttercream recipe, am gonna try out. given the proportion, it should be be lighter & smoother as compared to the one im using. will see if its similar to centreP's. and do u wanna be my guinea pig? i'll most probably be trying either rose or lychee flavor.

At least the berries for this is not sour... Yuan finished the Macaron L'Amour yesterday, claiming that it is still good...

I don't mind the ispahan partly due to my love for lychee buttercream or lychee flavoured stuff... but like you, finishing the raspberries is a torture...

Be your guinea pig? Of course, it is always my honour to try your bakes... and I wouldn't considered myself to be a guinea pig since they are always so good... It is a privillege :D
