No. 14 - Scoop Cake @ Tampopo Deli

Scoop Cake

Probably one of the best Japanese fresh cream chiffon in town. The cream is dense and has a tint of vanilla scent. This is one cream which I don't mind wasting my calories on. It is topped with fresh strawberries, orange and apricot. Take note that this cake gets sold out pretty fast and it cannot stay outside the fridge for very long. Best eaten at the shop. Each slice of scoop cake costs $6.

Ever since Yuan tried Decadence Cakes' Strawberry & Mango Cream, he became very particular with the butter-aftertaste of chiffon or vanilla sponge.

Surprisingly when we had BakerZin's Strawberry Shortcake on Sunday (22th Nov), the vanilla sponge that comes with it, does has this slight after-taste.

Having eaten the Scoop cake yesterday; and that the impression of the above 2 cakes remains registered in our head, we realized the winning factor of the Scoop cake is the lack of butterish aftertaste, with a springy sponge and a milky chantily cream.

No doubt, the best among the 3 candidates.
