Bean Curd Tarts

Comes in box of 6. Le-cafe is popular with their golf balls pineapple tart and that this cafe don't sell their stuff in individual pieces, mainly in box of 6s, 12s or so...

Lots of people actually reserve these babies...

This tarts are nice, I am not kidding you. First, how often you get beancurd tarts. Second, they are not sweet. Third, it gives you the impression that these are healthy stuff as they are beancurd.

The pastries is crunchy and not soggy while the filling is refreshing with the smell and taste of beancurd. However, I don't rule out the possibility that there is addition of eggs as it does has a "background" taste of egg custards.

As you open the box, you will smell the strong scent of beancurd. As you bite you will feel the crunchy and slightly sweet pastry. This is complemented by the smooth beancurd. Generally Le Cafe's tarts are rather nice. Coupe with beancurd that doesn't over whelm the taste, the effect is simply heavenly. Try it and you may give up eating egg tarts.

Le Cafe + Durians = ???

Famous for their golf balls pineapple tarts and beancurd tarts, Le Cafe ventured into some durian business.

So are these durian desserts as legendary as Goodwood Park?

Comes in box of 6... Le cafe presents these puffs with fresh durian flesh and fresh cream oozing out... well is it oh so scrumptious as what they claims?

Apart from durian puffs, they also have durian sandwich in which durian flesh and whipped cream is wrapped in a delicate sponge sandwich.

Sorry, my answer is no. Though the puff pastry and sponge sandwich are nicely made with the right level of fluffiness and softness. There is just too much whipped cream with almost untraceable amount of durian pulp. Although the smell of durian is there but to eat a gigantic puff with so much whipped cream is a nightmare for people who painfully gym-ed to shed the extra calories. I think the beancurd tarts are a better bet...

Having eaten so many durian by products (cakes, puffs, pudding, prata...), I would say that this one is not worth eating. Why? The cream content is just too high. You could hardly feel the durian pulp. Thus the puff and sandwich was almost like eating cream puff.
